Wendy Everly is facing an impossible choice. The only way to save the Trylle from their deadliest enemy is by sacrificing herself.  If she doesn’t surrender to the Vittra, her people will be thrust into a brutal war against an unbeatable foe.  But how can Wendy leave all her friends behind…even if it’s the only way to save them?

The stakes have never been higher, because her kingdom isn’t the only thing she stands to lose. After falling for both Finn and Loki, she’s about to make the ultimate choice…who to love forever. One guy has finally proven to be the love of her life—and now all their lives might be coming to an end.

Everything has been leading to this moment.  The future of her entire world rests in her hands—if she’s ready to fight for it.

I understand the difficulty when it comes to ending a series, but the final conclusion to the Trylle trilogy was disastrous. The ending was lame - too quick and rushed. I didn't like how she ended it at all. The fight scene between Wendy and her father was ludicrous. It was extremely obvious on how it would end. When Loki was on the edge of dying, I couldn't help but eye roll. I could totally tell that he wasn't going to die. I mean, come on! Amanda would have surprised me if Loki actually did die, which I would have preferred.

To add to the list of why it was disastrous, I hated how Wendy cheated on Tove. When you are both forced into a marriage, it isn't okay to mingle or get involved with any other guy. Yes, they weren’t in love with each, but that does not give you the excuse to be with another guy. You should first break off the bond between you and your husband, then start your relationship with another guy.

I loved Finn in the first two books, but I'm not sure if I hate him or despise him. Finn is incredibly stupid. He constantly rejects Wendy and refuses to be with her and then a day before her wedding, he expects her to give herself to him. Like literally wtf? May I please throw Finn into a ditch? Finn, what were you thinking when you suggested that?! Idiot. I am glad though Wendy didn't give in, but I'm still not happy that she gave into Loki.

Aside from the negatives, there was only one good thing about this book; it was hilarious. I couldn't help but laugh at the beginning especially when Wendy and Tove are sleeping (literally sleeping) together for the first time and in the morning, Loki just barges in. Then soon after, Finn comes by. The jealousy and dialogue between the characters were so funny, I think I read over their conversation at least three times.

Despite the ending, overall, this series was great. I will definitely be re-reading this soon!

2.5/5 STARS
